Get the Most Out of Your Radar Detector

So you're the proud owner of a brand new detector - now what? 
Here are 4 pro tips to ensure you're getting the best performance out of your detector.

1. Find the best location
Be sure to choose a location for your detector that is in the center of your windshield. Ensure you still have a clear view of the road ahead and are able to clearly see the sky above.

2. Mount your radar detector
Once you've found the best location, remove the paper backing from the EZ Mag Mount and firmly press onto the windshield. Connect the detector to the magnetic mount. Lock in place and adjust the angle by loosening the thumbwheel and adjusting the angle of the detector so that it's parallel to the ground.

3. Connect your detector with SmartCord
The majority of Escort radar detectors come with a SmartCord. Plug the SmartCord into your car's lighter/accessory socket then connect to your detector. The detector should automatically turn on.
 

4. Get to know SmartCord
There are a few different ways to get the most out of the SmartCord. First, there is a mute button to silence audio for a specific alert. You can press the mute button three times to lockout a false alert. The alert light will blink red when receiving a radar or laser alert. The SmartCord will always have a green power light on when receiving power.
